Disappointed.... Jul 29, 2010 The scale looks really good, and seems very accurate. However, I'm disappointed in it for the following reasons:
1. The LCD display is very difficult to read. It's hard to tell if a number is a zero, an eight, a four, or a blank (at the front end), which makes it very challenging to read the value. I've looked at it with and without the built-in light, and it's always difficult. It's also difficult to read which of the scales you are on for the multi-function button.
2. The three-digit codes are meaningless - you have to look them up every time you use it. I was expecting a word or a way to search for the food I'm weighing. I was hoping with the memory, that I would be able to store things with a meaningful name, but no such luck.
3. Similar to other reviews, I haven't figured out how to add ingredients without just logging them on a separate paper.
If all you want to do is weigh something, that works fine, but what I thought would be some really helpful features are not helping me.
Really good scale... Jul 28, 2010 I like this scale, has really good features. I like the measurement feature of typing in the food code and figuring out the portions. The only reason I gave it 4/5 stars is because: 1) almost every time I turn on the scale it is off by 2-3 grams and I have to press tare which should happen automatically, 2) it doesn't have all of the food codes only most popular, for example it doesn't have quinoa which I like, yet it has several types of raw, cooked etc. chicken, 3) the glass top is on screw-on mechanism like most remote car controls and sometimes it unscrews. These are just small things that can be irritating, however a great product.
Amazing nutrition scale!!!! Jul 28, 2010 I love my Eat Smart Nutrition scale !! It is an awesome, reliable scale. And works it works fabulously, consistently weighing items accurately. The list of foods that are preprogrammed is extremely large - i rarely have an item to weigh that is not preprogrammed. Also, the scale provides a comprehensive range of nutrition elements including not only calories, but proteins, carbs, sodium, etc. All in all, i give this product thumbs up with 5 stars!!! GREAT product!!
Healthy Eating Made Easy Jul 16, 2010 This product takes the hard out of eating healthy, it takes care of the numbers for you. Weight loss is also a big benefit and this scale just makes it so easy to use and stay on an eating plan. Easy to use I would recommend this to anyone well worth the small amount you pay.

The New and Improved Eatsmart Scale Jun 23, 2010 I've been eying this item for about a year, but couldn't bring myself to spend the money for it. I recently received an Amazon gift card and decided to go for it. So far, I am really happy with this purchase. I'm actually kind of glad I ended up waiting to get it. The reviews that complain about the readability - no longer an issue! The scale takes up very little room on my counter, yet the platform is large enough to put a full size dinner plate on it. With the backlighting, I can still read it with a plate on it, although a hold feature would be useful (maybe it even has it, so sorry if it does - I'm still learning about as I begin to use it). It seems to be extremely sensitive. You can drop individual mushroom slices and it will continue to add them, unlike some scales. This scale definitely seems to have the most bang-for-your-buck and has high reviews just about everywhere on the web. If you're debating whether this scale is worth it, go for it; I really don't think you'll be disappointed. I'm following a low carb way of eating, and normally track my food with an online program. While that works great at home, I don't have Internet at our cabin in the boonies, so this will keep me on track when I can't look up food values on the Internet. We also have a variety of other special dietary needs in the family, so I have to cook to adapt for everyone's needs. This scale gives you all the information you need to make sure your meals are healthy and acceptable for everyone's needs (sodium, potassium, carbs, fiber, and more). Weighing is so much more accurate than saying a "medium whatever food," as shown in many food calculators.
