5What a spatula!!  Jul 13, 2010
I really like the heat resistance of this spatula!! I like being stir hot candy and not have to worry about it ending up a melted mess. I have abused mine and it still keeps on ticking. I've had mine for a year now, and it was used when I got it. I reach for this spatula whenever I need one. Mine was made in the USA, though I don't know where they are made now.

Pros:

VERY heat resistant.

Well made.

One piece construction.

Able to withstand the test of time very well. (Mine was well used by a former chef before I got it and I've torture tested it over the last year, and it still works wonderfully).

Cons:

Plastic handle could melt if unattended. (That's common sense...)

Could be a bit long for some. (I find it works better for candy making, where I have the candy rather hot and don't want the handle to melt, but it could be a bit challenging for some others.)

Overall, the product's pros very much outweigh the cons, and I give this a five for durability and reliability.

This scraper is excellent! The handle is long to get into my deeper pots & the head is a wonderful shape to stir and scrape into the side of the bowl to clean it off. It also cleans up well. I feel the purchase was well worth the extra I would have paid for a lesser spatula at a discount store.

I have owned one of these scrapers since 1995, and I use it almost everyday. When I realized that American Test Kitchen chefs were using the same scraper I decided to buy a new one for myself and one for each of my children. I could see no difference in my new scraper and the old one. Probably the new one is made in China and I know my old one was still made in America.

5Rubbermaid Pro Scraper  Dec 27, 2009
I've seen these used on TV by professional chef's and they work exceptionally well. Very strong with just enough flex to scrap out corners.

If Cook's Illustrated recommends it, I'm buying it. This spatula is perfect for my kitchen!
